Ramzan congregation on July 24
The Madin Academy here will hold its annual mega Ramzan congregation on July 24. The prayer meet is rated one of the largest Islamic gatherings in the country. Madin Chairman Sayed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari said that world peace would be thrust of this year’s meet.
Thousands of people gathering at Swalat Nagar, anticipating Lailathul Qadr on the 26th evening of the holy month of Ramzan, will take a pledge to fight terrorism. Mr. Bukhari will lead the prayers. He said that the world was going through a tough time as racial and religious hatred and intolerance were spreading.
“It’s the duty of every human being to strive for harmony and togetherness,” he said.
Elaborate arrangements are being made for the conference. A volunteer corps of 5,555 personnel has been formed to manage the meeting.
Established in 1997, Madin Academy today has 30 educational and charity institutions under it. As many as 17,800 students are enrolled to different Madin institutions. The Madin Academy has been taking initiative in promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance.
The Academy has been playing a key role in organizing the International Interfaith Harmony Seminar annually in connection with the United Nations’ harmony initiatives.
The Madin Academy is also part of the G20 Interfaith Summit, scheduled in line with G20 summit in Brisbane in November.
