Malappuram district of Kerala state is gearing up to host world’s third largest Ramzan prayer congregation on 24th July 2014. The mammoth meet will pray for world peace and take pledge against terrorism.
The mega event has been organized by Ma’din Academy, one of the premier education and charity centers in south India. Hundreds of thousands of people from different parts of India as well as foreign countries are expected to attend this special Ramzan prayer session.
It is the third largest of its kind in the world, held on the eve of 27th of Ramzan after Makkah and Madeena. Here people congregate in search of the blessing of the special night, called Lailathul Khadir, which is compatible to thousand months. Freeing themselves from all worries, half million people raise their hands in the union, beseeching Almighty for spiritual deliverance.
Sayyid Ibrahim Khaleel Al Bukhari, the chairman and sole leader of Ma’din Academy, is the leader of this spiritual conclave. It is a different kind of a spiritual experience for all believers. The annual conclaves have attracted attention of believers across the country and abroad. The devotees who are unable to participate directly in the prayer will take part in it watching live telecast on television by chanting each word along with hundreds of thousands.
‘World is going through a tough time as the hatred and intolerance is spreading. It is the duty of every human being to pledge for togetherness and harmony. This Ramadan conference intends to promote the idea of moderation in life. This is the great message of Islam.’ said Sayyid Bukhari.
“The first and the foremost basic right of a human being is the right to live. It is our responsibility to pray for peace in Palestine, Iraq, Syria etc where humanity is brutally murdered”, Ma’din chairman pointed.
“The society is highly influenced by this annual event as hundreds of thousands of people will stand awake for prayer for world peace and virtues in personal and public life. We have been receiving positive feed backs from people of different sections of the society. A number of charity and humanitarian ventures are also being conducted as part of this special event”- he added. Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhari will lead the pledge against terrorism and closing prayer.
Elaborate arrangements, with the support of 5555 volunteers, are in place for the smooth conduct of the programme. Best cooperation from the part of district administration, police and fire force will be there from the beginning to the end.
Established in 1997, Ma’din Academy runs 30 educational and charity ventures with 17800 students on the role. Along with the educational activities, the academy has different programs to spread the message of interfaith harmony and tolerance. It is one of the main organizers of the International Interfaith Harmony Seminar every year in connection with UN’s harmony initiatives. Ma’din is also part of G20 Interfaith Summit which is scheduled to be held in line with G20 summit in Brisbane Australia in November this year.
